After the first teaser trailer at E3 2013, EA and DICE finally revealed a first look at Star Wars: Battlefront this morning at Star Wars Celebration. Taking place on the forest moon of Endor, the trailer shows off a mode called Walker Assault that sees rebels defending a base against a lumbering AT-AT slowly making its way to destroy a shield generator. While the trailer doesn’t show any actual gameplay, it does highlight key gameplay features, weapons, and vehicles, such as speeder bikes, sullustans, ishi tib, AT-STs, shield generators, rocket launchers, and hero characters. On the technical side, the in-engine footage gives a good idea of what the game will look and play like with volumetric lighting and explicit particle effects such as from splintered trees.
The ending montage also gives a quick look at other planets and locations, such as Hoth, Tatooine, Jakku, and Sullust. And of course, the release date for Star Wars: Battlefront is finally confirmed to be November 17, 2015 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
